Details

The team will depart Atlanta on Saturday, May 16 and travel to Barranquilla, Colombia. The team will be hosted by families of Iglesia Camino, Verdad, and Vida in Barranquilla. Medical clinics will be held in impoverished neighborhoods of Barranquilla and surrounding communities where there are many needs for primary medical care. Many of the poor class in Colombia do not receive adequate medical care because they cannot afford it. Nurses, doctors, pharmacists, dentists, optometrists, and non-medical personnel are needed as the team will minister to physical and spiritual needs in and around Barranquilla, one of the largest cities in Colombia. This will be VIMM’s first trip to Colombia.

Team leader, Kirby Phillips, is a current VIMM board member. He has been on 18 medical mission trips with VIMM and has led 8 VIMM trips to Haiti, Dominican Republic, Panama, and Sri Lanka. He served as a missionary in Haiti from 1985-90.

Medical Director, Dr. Wesley Harris, served as a medical missionary in Honduras for 21 years. He has been a part of numerous medical mission trips in various parts of the world including several trips with VIMM. He is currently living and practicing medicine in Huntsville, Alabama.
