Who We Are

VIMM (Volunteers In Medical Missions) is a team of Christian Doctors, nurses, and many other volunteers that minister to the physical and spiritual needs of children and adults in developing countries throughout the world.

VIMM provides opportunities for Christian medical professionals and other volunteers to experience missions first-hand. Please consider supporting our efforts and join our team, through financial support, through prayer, and/or participating in a mission trip.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, that it is His holy and inspired word, and that it is of supreme and final authority.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons- Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgement of God, and need to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross.

We believe you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth... Acts 1:8.

We believe Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, took on Himself all of our sins, died and rose again, and is seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and advocate.

We believe in holy Christian living and that we must have concern for the hurts and social needs of our fellowmen.

We believe that not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us… Titus 3:5

We believe we must dedicate ourselves anew to the service of our Lord and to His authority over our lives.

Our Goals

To encourage fellowship among Christian volunteers.

To promote a Christian approach to the treatment of medical patients throughout the world.

To involve non-medical people in mission projects such as construction, Bible schools, evangelism and the use of other skills.

To provide medicines, supplies, and equipment to clinics in third-world countries.

To provide international public health information.

To inform missionaries, of any Christian denomination, what is available to them in the fields of medicine and construction.

To initiate and develop medical mission projects.

To procure necessary funding through individuals, churches, corporations and foundations.

Village Health Workers

VIMM supports three Village Health Workers (VHW) in the Olanchito area of Honduras. The VHW are non medical members of outlying villages that have been appointed by the village leaders. They receive abbreviated medical training to care for many diseases and injuries. The workers are supervised by and can contact a physician in Olanchito in the event of major medical problems. Child First Meds provide much of the basic medications to treat common illnesses. Children are much healthier and deaths have been greatly reduced where the VHW’s provide medical care. VIMM desires to have a lasting impact on the health of the people in the countries where teams work and the VHW program is an excellent way to do that. Lives are changed in these very remote areas where medical care is almost non-existent.

VIMM is a 501 C-3 not for profit organization.
